A 16th-century palace with two doorman entrances and a rare water clock.
Palazzo Berardi (historically Palazzo Guglielmi) was built by the Muti family. Architect Giacomo Della Porta delivered the original design in 1582; subsequent works were carried out by Giovanni Antonio De Rossi, Filippo Barigioni and — after the property passed to Filippo Berardi in 1864 — Virginio Vespignani.
Three levels
The Mansion is arranged over three levels: the Winter Garden Level, the Mezzanine Level, and the Terrace Level.
The water clock
The central courtyard fountain feeds a rare 19th-century water clock — installed in 1870 by Father Giovanni Battista Embriaco of the nearby Convent of Santa Maria sopra Minerva — one of only two in Rome.
On screen
Palazzo Berardi has appeared in international film productions including works by Paolo Sorrentino and Steven Spielberg.
Doormen
A doorman is on duty at both Via del Gesù 62 and Piazza della Pigna 6 during reception hours; they receive deliveries on your behalf. The personal concierge service is provided by Maria Grazia, by appointment.
